Decision: individual administrative procedure performed by an authority in relation to an application for asylum.

Dublinexamination: the Immigration Department determines which European Union member state (except Denmark, but including Iceland and Norway) is responsible for the examination of the asylum application. This is done based on the ‘Dublin II Regulation’, which was adopted on 18 February 2003 by the Council of the European Union.

Durable solutions (UNHCR term): For each refugee, UNHCR examines whether return to the country of origin or local integration in the first host country are not a (better) option. Only if these two alternatives are not possible can resettlement be considered.
