Lawyer: legal professional who is a regular member of the Bar, gives advice on legal matters, and assists and represents asylum seekers during the procedure.

Legal assistance bureau: service organised by each Bar within each judicial district, offering partially or completely free legal assistance. All asylum seekers, as well as all foreigners when filing an application for regularisation or an appeal against an order to leave Belgian soil, are entitled to completely free assistance from a lawyer.
