Annual report 2010: now also available in German

date: 21 December 2011

From now on, you can consult the annual report 2010 of the CGRS in German. It is an abridged version.

Chapter 1 ‘Asylum figures’ contains statistics concerning the number of asylum applications in Belgium in 2010 (with a focus on EU nationals, unaccompanied foreign minors and gender), the number of decisions taken by the CGRS that year, the processing terms and the backlog.

In chapter 2, we explain how the CGRS assesses an asylum application: the examination and the interview by the protection officer, the role of the interpreter, the research by Cedoca and the support by the legal service. It will also give you some additional information about the coordination of specific cases (minors, gender, public order, psychological evaluation).

The report finally also contains figures about the second mission of the CGRS: issuing documents to recognized refugees and stateless persons.

This annual report is the second document which the CGRS publishes in German. The first document was the brochure which was published together with the Immigration Department (Belgien und Migration / Asyl in Belgien). At the beginning of 2012, the CGRS will launch the German version of the website. Initially, this will be an abridged version. Only the important information will be available and new information will be added gradually.
