Asylum statistics of November 2011

The CGRS has published the statistics of November (PDF, 426.7 Kb). Some remarks on these statistics:

In November 2011, 2318 asylum applications were filed in Belgium, which implies a decrease of 11% in comparison with October 2011.
In November, the main countries of origin were Guinea (10.3 % of the total number of asylum applications), Afghanistan (8.9 %), Iraq (8.3 %), Russia (7.3 %) and the DR Congo (5.0 %). Albania, Pakistan, Kosovo, Serbia and Nepal complete the top 10 of the countries of origin.
The number of asylum applications originating from the Balkans (mainly Albania, Kosovo and Serbia) dropped considerably in comparison with October 2011.
The number of unaccompanied minors also dropped in November 2011.
