Annick Goeminne

Annick Goeminne obtained her law degree from the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve. Later on, she educated herself in mediation.

Annick already worked at the CGRS as a protection officer from 1994 to 1996. After having worked for Doctors Without Borders in Chad, she returned to the CGRS at the International Relations Service and Cedoca. She then went to the European Commission to help develop a common EU asylum policy.

From 2007 to 2008, she returned once more to the CGRS and became responsible for the International Relations Service. In 2009 and 2010, within the framework of the EU Presidency, she advised on European asylum and migration policy at the cabinet of Deputy Prime Minister Joëlle Milquet.

Since 2014, she worked at the Personnel & Organization Staff Service of the Interior, where she also led the Competence Development and Communication Service since 2019.

On 4 March 2024, Annick took up her duties as French-speaking Deputy Commissioner at the CGRS.
