Notes of the personal interview for applicants in reception centres

Sending and notifying the notes of the personal interview to applicants staying in an open reception centre

As of March 2018, applicants have a right to access the notes of their personal interview and to communicate their remarks on the notes before the CGRS takes its decision. The time in which an applicant or his/her lawyer have to communicate their remarks on the content of the notes of the personal interview depends on the manner of notification of a copy of the notes.

Applicants who are staying in an open reception centre receive from now on a copy of the notes of their personal interview by registered post addressed to them personally.

The proof of registered post is added to their administrative dossier. Applicants for international protection or their lawyers have eight workdays to send their remarks about the content of the notes of the personal interview and/or the course of the personal interview to the CGRS. This time limit is calculated from the third working day following the sending of the registered letter.

With this new way of sending a copy of the notes, the CGRS intends to keep processing times in the asylum procedure as short as possible.
