Le présent rapport est une mise à jour du COI Focus daté du 15 mai 2023. Il s’intéresse à l’attitude des autorités burundaises vis-à-vis de leurs ressortissants de retour ayant quitté illégalement le pays et/ou ayant séjourné en Belgique et/ou y ayant introduit une demande de protection internationale (DPI) et/ou ayant été rapatrié de force sous escorte policière. Il couvre la période depuis l’avènement du président Evariste Ndayishimiye en juin 2020 jusqu’au 1 avril 2024. Ce rapport a été réalisé avec l'aide du Fonds européen pour l'asile, la migration et l'intégration (FAMI).

Le retour dans le pays d’origine est envisagé lorsque l’étranger ne réunit plus les conditions requises pour son séjour en Belgique. Ce retour peut être volontaire ou forcé.

Le Cedoca a clôturé la recherche pour cette mise à jour le 25 avril 2024.

The purpose of this report is to provide contextual information of relevance to the assessment of applications for international protection, including refugee status and subsidiary protection, and to the development of EUAA’s country guidance on Iran.

The report covers the period of 1 January 2023–17 April 2024. Events taking place after the end of the reference period have not been included, apart from some limited information added during the finalisation of the report, until 21 May 2024.

Syrie

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information regarding the targeting of individuals in Syria, for international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection, and in particular for use in the update of EUAA’s Country Guidance on Syria.

This report addresses topics related to the targeting of individuals by different armed actors operating in Syria, including the Government of Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, the Syrian National Army, and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant among others. Targeting of individuals by sectors of society is also addressed where relevant.

This report is an update of the EUAA COI Report: Syria – Targeting of individuals (March 2020). It also provides updated information on profiles and topics covered previously in the following EUAA COI reports: EUAA COI Report – Situation of women (February 2020), EUAA COI Report – Military service (April 2021), and EUAA COI Report – Situation of returnees from abroad (June 2021).

The reference period for the events described in this report is from January 2020 until August 2022. The drafting of this report was finalised on 19 August 2022. Any event taking place after this date is not included in this report.

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information for the assessment of international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection.

The report covers the period of April 2021 - July 2022, and it is an update of the EUAA COI Report: Syria - Socio-economic situation: Damascus City, published in April 2021. It provides relevant information regarding the socio-economic situation in the city of Damascus, including information about internal mobility and freedom of movement. This will inform the update of the chapter on Internal Protection Alternative within the EUAA Country Guidance on Syria 2022.

The drafting of this report was finalised on 23 August 2022. Any event taking place after this date is not included in this report.

This report is part of a series of Syria COI reports produced in 2021.

This report analyses the security situation in Syria, focusing in particular on the situation of the civilian population. The reference period is 2020 and the first three months of 2021. The report is an update of the EASO COI Report Syria – Security situation (May 2020).

The report is primarily focused on the return of Syrians from Europe and Syria’s neighbouring countries (Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan) to government-held Syria. This report is part of a series of Syria COI reports produced in 2021.
